if someone wants to get out of debt today it is pretty easy with a debt consolidation plan, however it may get a bit tricky at times, I suggest you get as much information as possible online on this first,

Either one is just as good as the other. I have found very, very few places that will only take one or the other and they are usually little mom and pop type places. I have a Visa credit card and check card and two Mastercard credit cards. Used all of them tons of times. And don't listen to to those morons telling you not to get one at all. If you use it right then you will have no trouble. I use the cards for everything. I buy my gas and pay my bills, buy groceries and anything else I can. I pay the card off when the bill comes. Since I pay the balance in full I do not pay them a dime and I have rewards cards so they actually pay me to use them. If you are going to get one or the other then be smart about it and do not carry a balance. Never pay the minimum. Add: And if you pay in full every month the the interest rate does not matter since you will not have a balance to owe interest on. Make sure you get one with no fees (ie Annual Fee).

Bad credit credit cards have been developed for people with poor credit and want to improve their credit rating. There are two types of credit cards: secured and unsecured credit cards. You have to choose between these two, based on various factors with the stable income being the crucial one.
A secured credit card is obtained after making a deposit to the card company. You get the card with lower limit than the money you have deposited. An unsecured credit card does not need you to give any deposit. But the catch is that the bank may charge either higher interest or fees if you have bad credit. Hence find out the terms and condition before taking these types of cards.

Having too many inquiries on your credit report is not good. You may want to start a secured credit card first to help build up your credit. Most banks, after a certain period of time are willing to give you a unsecured credit card. Just make sure you always read the fine print when it comes to any type of credit card.

1st - don't listen to I thought so.
I went to Orchard Bank and applied for a credit card. My credit score is in the 540's. The only card they would offer me was a secured one.

1st, don't listen to the above answers!!!!
I assume when you say bad credit your score is somewhere around 520-580...that is "BAD" credit. If this is you go to orchardbank.com They give 2nd chance credit cards to people with shaking credit. They usually start you off with $1000 or so and built it from there...good luck!

Just so you know, if you have bad credit and you just apply for a card, it affects your credit negatively. You don't want a credit card if you've got bad credit to start with. It'll just get worse.
