4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails."
Add you name to the places where it says, "Love." Are you doing this to each other and to other people. I know personally, I struggle in some areas. How about you? What do you think?

I do struggle at times with some of these virtues of love. The question is do we acknowledge it and ask for the strength in that area of lack. We are to come into a maturity of Christ which means to know how to act and react at all times. But, there's this bit of "self" that wants to rise up and take over. Just be mindful of all the things that God shows us when we are wrong and let His love correct us. I also used this scripture in my wedding program. If every marriage were to live by this one passage, I believe there would be less divorce.

Amen sister, I struggle everyday in some areas. And tommorrows struggles may be in areas that were no problem today, and so on and so on. I am not without sin. I am saved by the Grace of God.

If I was in a relationship with ANYONE who acted the way that verse described, I would marry her and be the best husband she could possibly find.

Unfortunately this is against human nature, thus making someone like that a rare find (Oprah- shut up... you can be first on the list... happy?).

God is love... in order to take it into context read 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 before reading ch 13 alone that will give you an interpretation clearly...

Oh I struggle! YES! I am always praying for the Lord to pour out His spirit on me and give me patience more than anything! That is the one fruit I lack the most. I strive to live by the Spirit and to bear fruit and I pray for the Lord to help me for apart from Him we can do nothing! Just as Jesus tells us and how true that is! Do you notice when you do not spend time in prayer and in the Bible how miserable you become? I do....and I notice I snap easily and get irritable easily....It is a constant battle...and just as God tells us who believe in Him: Ephesians 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
--Yes it is all about love, and we are to LOVE as Christ has loved us.....and He is the only one in us that can help us do that! Praise Be to Him!

1st Corinthians 13 is one of the most beautiful chapters in the Bible, and for obvious reasons. But Paul is talking about God's love, not human love. We can't and don't do anything in that list. But with God all things are possible, and through Him we can learn to love like we never thought possible.
