My little Newman is ten weeks old and on the final weaning stages. Only one feeding at night with a very thick feeding in the morning that he has to eat out of a dish. My problem is that he is so concerned with getting out of his cage that he doesn't eat when he's in there. Even if I'm not in the room - he'll just sit in one spot and sulk until I get back and then he just paces a squaks. He'll eat pellets and human food outside his cage when he's with us - but I know he's not eating when he's in his cage - EVER. I don't want to spoil him but I don't want him to starve either.

He really seems to hate being in his cage and he's only relaxed when with me. HELP please!!

i have almost the same sigguation as you my cockatiel won't eat his fruits and veges until i eat some heres what i do to stop it:

if your bird cage has food cups put them in and fill them with fresh water and his food then in a smaller plasic cup place a treat like millet or his favorite snack to eat outside the cage put that in as well the new step is to find food he HATES when you come home each day if he didn't eat anything take him out and feed him the thing he hates he will relize in a few days his favorite things are inside the cage not out

-hope it works for you
