You are absolutely correct. The KKK may claim to be Christian, but they are about as far away from being true Christians as one can get. Christianity is all about love and peace and tolerance. Not about hate and racism and persecution. They have no influence on me, whatsoever, except to turn me further against them.

It is a proven fact that the KKK were Christians. But they we not careful who they put in leadership, so this leader taught them about Aryanship and how it was SUPERIOR. Be careful because the bible talks about true Christianity as having love for others. It is the second commandment of the bible. I do believe some Christians will be like the KKK group, but it is between them and God to walk in love!

I would like to submit that the KKK is a great influence on Christmas around the USA. My contention is supported by the widely known fact that KKK members have crosses in their homes which are decorated like Christmas trees during the season of Christmass. In fact, many KKK members also hang little black dolls from the cross as a tribute to the long abandoned practice of hanging negroes. Burning the cross is seen as a method of adding attention to the cross so that others can see it or hear about it. As for you question regarding other people thinking other christians are like the KKK christians, that is just simply wrong. I'm sure that some christians are also practicing wife abusers, pedophiles (ie. priests), rapist, speeders, and alcoholics. Let's not run away from our senses here, ok.

Many KKK people consider themselves to be Christians, but I understand it is a secret society, and possibly their pastors do not even know they belong to the KKK. If I found anyone in my church belonged to the KKK, I would ask the church to put him out, unless he repented.
I don't think they are influencing many Christians. What they are, however, is an embarrassment to Christians, since as you say, they are seen by the worls as a Christian group. A more unchristian group I have never heard of!

The KKK are considered christian by many for a couple of reasons. First, they base some of their beliefs on scripture and second they consider themselves christians.
Not all christians are the same and I understand that. I do not believe that a person is evil because that person is christian and the KKK is a christian group. That is bad reasoning.
The same can be said for muslims. Not all muslims are terrorists. Not even most. Just a few of them are. Yet some people regard muslims are terrorists.

Despite all the negatives a posative with such hate groups is that they provide us with a clear idea of how we as a society should not behave and by having something to compare society as a whole to in this way, the majority of us can maintain a less hateful outlook towars those different from ourselves.
More to the point of you question, I think hate groups like the KKK are a bad influence on everyone, especially those with narrow minded views or with little exposure to alternative perspectives and opinions.

A true Christian SHOULD not hate people.
The KKK are using Christianity as a tool to aide in forcing their views... kind of like a number of world governments.
People who lump people into groups are idiots. Nobody listens to idiots. Only a f-cking idiot would say that ALL Christians are like the KKK- although I've met a few Christians who would make that statement true for themselves...

I think the KKK group are a bad influence for all white people. For example I have a friend and he's white but he does not want to go around killing non white people.
I also have a friend who's Muslim and does not support Islamic terrorists.
My Muslim friend has told me that when people see that he is Muslim they look at him as if he was a terrorist and he regularly gets racist comments.
You cant judge a person by his religion or the color of his skin. You cant judge a religion or the color of someone by the actions of another.
But for some reason, people still do.

The KKK is not a signifigant force in christian or social movements at the moment. They pretty much evaporated in the 80's.
In the 20's and 30's in their peak they were a signifigant force in the christian movement. There are a lot of flavors of christianity, just like Islam. Neither is a heterogenious movement and can be defined t support personnal agendas.

Anyone that is a member of the KKK is not a Christian. The KKK does not and never has been from God.
If you are a member of the KKK you are not a Christian.
They are a pack of anti-Christians if you ever saw it.
