Hold on a minute ... Do YOU know Jesus Christ loves you so much that he died on the cross for you?
No you don't KNOW that, you believe it, which is very different to knowing it. Why do you have to make out that you are talking about a fact when you are talking about a belief?
And it is a belief that doesn't stand up to much scrutiny if you start to question it. Which is fine if you believe in it. My kids believe in Santa and it does them no harm.

I respect that you believe that, but I do not share that belief. But I have some inkling of how you feel. It may be that I will find myself trapped in a burning car, hanging from a cliff, or lost in a cave someday and a police officer, fire fighter, forest ranger, security guard, or perfect stranger may die to save me. It would be a debt I could never repay.

That's very nice of him, but he needn't have bothered. I love my wife( honest) but I don't think I would want to be exectued to prove it. Flowers will do just as well.
