I have a lot of moles on various parts of my body and I would like to have most of them removed. I haven't been to a dermatogolist to see if any of them are dangerous, but there is skin cancer in my family so I would feel better getting them taken off. I know they would check to see if any are dangerous and remove those that are, but I would still like the others removed. What will insurance cover and what would I have to pay for? What would be out of pocket cost of removing a mole?

your insurance should pay for the mole removal as long as the dermatologist sends it to get biopsied. that is what happened in my case, at least.

Insurance should at least cover 75 to 80 percent especially since they will be doing a biopsy. On top of that, they will remove the moles more than likely through a freezing process and nip them off if you will. It is quite painless as they will also numb the sites where you have the moles.

my wife had a mole rmvd from the side of her left eye. the insurance didn't pay becuz it was aesthetic and not medical. it was inexpensive tho, and only left a small scar that is hardly even noticable.
