No - because that would be the beginning of the end. The end of individual footballing nations in the British Isles ie Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, England......and the result would be Great Britain - one footballing team. Not good, and most fans resent the idea.

I think they should have a cup. The N. Ireland has no league pretty much and much of the Welsh teams are already in the English Cups. The only ones that would really benefit would be the Old Firm, but I think that would be great. These two have been playing against mediocre teams for way to long and need some real competition. Celtic have proved this over the last few seasons by playing against Man Utd. I think it would also be better for the other teams also. Instead of Hearts and Hibs playing against teams like Livingston and Dunfermline, they could now play against teams like Birmingham City and Man City which would make them better in the long run.

There's no way your going to get rid of League Cup competitions, but a UK league cup would be kinda cool to see. The only problem is the competition would be dominated by the English clubs, with the probable exception of Celtic and Rangers.

must be interesting, yet i dont think of it is going to ensue, i couldnt see many away followers going to the video games e.g... portsmouth - vs - aberdeen on a mid week replay in the rain......
