NO! Dogs digestive systems cannot process milk. I can't remember if it's the lactose or a certain enzyme, but it will cause gastric distress and diarrhea. You can purchase "ice cream" (actually a frozen treat with NO milk) in your local grocery store, should be in the ice cream section. The only "human" food/drink aceptable for dogs are meats (turkey, beef, chicken), bland vegetables (peas, carrots, yams, beans) and watery fruit (watermelon, apples - NO GRAPES!)and as for drink, water only! Dogs have very different digestive systems, so save your puppy some agony and give him a treat and some water!

No, I have a ten month old jack russell. I was pouring milk this morning and accidently knocked it over. I cleaned it up as fast as I could but she still managed to lick a little of it. She ended up throwing up a lot within 5 minutes after it happened.

No, milk will upset the puppies stomach causing diarrhea. Never a good idea to give cats or dogs milk. If you need to feed them due to death of parent, you need to get special milk from the vet's office.

Probably not. Most dogs are lactose intolerant. As a general rule, it's not a good idea to give them milk. It may cause diarrhea or even vomiting.
Your particular puppy might be able to tolerate it, but it's not a risk to take without good reason.

Socks and rice sound like the cheapest heating method. Just empty the socks and run them through the wash, and replace with fresh rice. It would really be best to get the pups checked out by a vet. It probably is instinctual for your chihuahua to try and help, but I would keep her away since she might step on them or smother them. Good Luck!

no, it will give her diarrhea and possible future stomach problems. it might smell and taste good but milk isn't good for puppies after they stop feeding off their mother. i dont recommend it. try giving her treats that taste like all certain kinds of meat.. that will satisfy her for sure. congrats on the new puppy btw. =)

No! dogs and cats can't digest the kind of milk we drink - any dairy product will make them throw up.

I do not know if it is good for him but my lab would jump up and knock milk drinks over and lick it up. She would do it all the time and it never hurt her any.
