first, why did he throw up? find out the cause before you feed him.
don't feed him anything for a while, then feed him a little bit (his regular food), wait, then give him a little bit more.
call the vet if you think it's serious.

Take a look at the throw up.If it isn't even broken down at all yet.Give the dog a few hours with only water. Then try small portions.Maybe a soft, and dry food mix.If you have recently changed it's diet,or brand of food.Go back to the sure thing. If there is grass from the yard,or where ever in the throw up.There could be chemicals in it.However.Sometimes dogs eat grass as a natural way to induce vomiting, because their stomach is upset.(Mother natures little tool if you will.)If there is blood in it?Vet,and pronto.I hope I've helped a bit.None of the advise I've given will hurt.Just possibly resolve,or get to the bottom of it.You also may want to keep an eye on the stools. It may sound gross. But the dog is you pal.Right?

Just like a human, I would not feed him right after he throws up. His stomach is upset and will just get sick again. I would wait like 4-5 hours and give him a quarter of what you usually feed him and see how his stomach behaves.

No - his stomach may still be upset, and feeding him may make him throw up again. I would hold off on food for a little while, then when you do feed him again, feed him something bland like chicken and white rice.

I would give his tummy time to settle. Give him an hour and try to give him 1/4 cup of water to see if he keeps it down wait 30 min if it stays give him a little food and see if it stays if it doesn't pick food and water up for the night and repeat in the morning. If in the morning he is still puking make a vet appointment.

Yes. If possible make your dog some boiled white rice, with pieces of baked chicken.
Like it is for a human..this is easy for the dog to digest.

first deturmin why the dog did it. Car sick is a popular one. Maybe the dog ate something that made it get sick. Dont feed it that again.
If the dogs hungry it'll eat. If it's sick it wont.
This is one way to deturmin if the dog is sick.
