Pascal's Wager only exists because it is the only thing that christianity can hold on to that makes sense to them. They can not see that it is faulty, that it asks a person to compromise their beliefs and that the use of it to try to twist someones arm is rude and inconsiderate. Christians just ignore the man & monkey link in evolution and just cling to Pascal's Wager like the last lifeboat available on the Titanic.

1. Man did not come from monkeys. Humans and monkeys are primates and they share a common ancestor.
2. Pascal's wager is illogical. You cannot force yourself to believe in a god. You can go through the motions and pretend to believe in a god but you can't make yourself believe. If gods are omniscient, they will know you are feigning belief so there is no point in doing it.

No no! It's not the same logic. Pascal's wager and Anslem's Ontological Argument are each descended from a common ancestral bit of sophistry that says faith and tolerance are incompatible because intolerant faith is more perfect...

Where did you get the idea that man came from monkeys? Humans are apes, whereas monkeys are a different group with which we share a common ancestor. As a handy guide to the difference: Monkeys have tails, apes do not.
