Some wholesale stores sell them, but you have to make sure it is the quailty brand and not a knockoff.
Some brands that are really good are Royal Canin and Neutro (Neutro is a little more affordable)

Really good dog food will always cost you more than the other crap. Check the ingredients first...anything that begins with corn meal, brown rice...that kind of thing...walk on by. Dogs need meat, not just veggies and by-products. The best places to buy food are pet stores that don't sell pets! You could try calling your vet or local kennel and see if there are any wholesellers in your area to buy in bulk. I buy Orivan(I think it's called) and it costs about 75/bag(lasts us about 1.5 mos)...this is the puppy food...once your dog is mature the price will come down a bit for a large bag...around 50-75 for good food...that's the price of keeping your dog healthy! Pretty cheap if you think of what the vet bills could cost you if you don't!! :o) You could always go to the raw feed diet, might cost less? Or all natural (make it yourself)? OH OH....and if you switch to an all meat diet food (no byproducts and corn, etc.) you will notice your dog will eat less cause it has more protein...the side of the bag even suggests smaller amounts than the crap food!! Hope this helps!!

First, Purina and Authority, etc. are not premium dog foods so avoid them. It sounds like you have researched the premium brands. My own suggestions for premium foods are "natural balance" or "solid gold" and there are a few others as well. You can get a 35 lb. bag of ultra premium natural balance food for $33.99 at www.animalworldnetwork.com If you would like to read more on the importance of food and nutrition and more, see the link below.

There are several good dog foods out on the market that would be considered premium that are within an affordable price range:
Petsmarts Authority Brand is affordable and has quality ingredients.

Costco food is as good as most premium brands and it is only $20. If you compare the ingredients you will find they are similar and it is what my vet recommends.

I have owned a few German Shepherds and raised them from pups and had them on Purina O.N.E. for the most part, and they lived long healthy lives and I also gave them Purina O.N.E. dog biscuits. The food and biscuits are more expensive than the other brand names at the grocery store, and it is less expensive than the stuff you are asking about.

I have my dogs on Diamond dog food. I buy the dog food at our feed store were we buy our horse feed, I buy a 40lb bag for $18 ~$20.00.
I would just search on line the brand of dog food you have your dogs on now and see if you can get discounts.
