My kitten keeps biting patches if fur off of his tail and I dont know why. Is it for attention? If you know why he does it, how can I prevent him from doing that?

Cats may engage in fur pulling for a number of reasons. They do it out of boredom, aggravation, anger, stress, fear, or even pain. I would recommend a trip to the vet to rule out any physical causes. If no physical problem is noted discuss possible behavioral causes and appropriate solutions with your vet.

Make sure he doesn't have flees first of all, my cat did that to his head. He may just have dry skin. Also if he's a kitten he may just be figuring his tail out, it took my cat a month or two to figure out what it was, of course hes a dummy too.

it probaely has an itch. a flea, a tick, or a rash. you should take it to the vet! oh and u should put something on it's tail that it doesn't like to smell or taste so it won't bite it's tail if it is a habit.
