You just have to give him time, he doesn't understand what is going on yet.

Why should he welcome you? You're his pet. He expects you to greet him, as I'm sure you do. Regardless, a dog shouldn't be bouncing off the walls when anyone comes to the door. I wouldn't recommend teaching him this habit, it only creates tension in the dog. My questions to you would be this. After you've fed him, does he automatically climb up on your lap, or do you call him up? When you walk, does he walk in front of you, beside you, or behind you? If he climbs on you or even the couch without you asking him to, or if he walks in front of you rather than beside or behind, then you, sir, have a pup that has already taken the lead over you. Not a very healthy way to start his life, but correctable nonetheless. Once you've regained control and have taught the pup which behaviors are acceptable and which are not, he'll be more likely to greet you when you've been gone for any length of time. But when the time comes that he does do this, it's important that you not allow him to greet you, or anyone else, in an excited manner. Not allowing him to jump, either on you, anyone else, or even just around in circles. Make him practice being calm and submissive and you'll have the dog you've always wanted.

You need to play and interact with him a lot. Take him out, have him socialize with other dogs and people. Also, you should be feeding a puppy at least twice a day when its still young like that.

first he is to young to understand and secondly you must feed a puppy more then once. 3 to 4 times a day. give him time to bond you have to learn each other.
