Is the pup underweight? What are you feeding? What breed? If it's a large breed, you don't want him/her to gain weight too quickly as it puts stress on the joints and growing bones which can hurt! I'd put him/her on a premium kibble and feed more, if you want him/her to gain weight. But I'd also consult my vet first.

I really don't think it would be safe, try calling a vet to make sure, and please for your puppy's sake don't give 'em any of it until you do call the vet to make sure.
