I have three nieces under the age of 11...?

We are going on a family ski trip this weekend. I look forward to spending time with them...but...my sister in law is bringing along two of her teenage nieces. My fear is they would rather spend time with them than me (im over 30). I know this sounds horribly selfish...but what can i do to lure them into wanting to be with their auntie??? Dont be hard on me, i just wanna have fun with them, so no lectures please!~

I would just let them know before you go that you are looking foward to spending time with them. I think that the teenages would not want to hang out with 3 girls under 11, and if it comes up, split it up, say how about you spend saturday with me, and on sunday they can go with the older girls if they want. I understand how you feel- every relative wants to spend quality time with family, especially nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters whom they don't get to see often if they live far away.

i suggest talking to the teen's mother about the situation in a heart-to-heart talk. explain all of your feelings about it to her, and make sure she understands how you are feeling. suggest to her that she brings them along, but makes sure that they are entertained with some teenage activities on the slopes half of the time to keep them busy with her too. avoid hogging your nieces the whole time though. if you feel that they are flocking to the teenagers anyway, talk to your three nieces kindly about how you'd also love to spend some time with them as well, and they will understand as long as you say it in a gentle manner without being pushy. Perhaps the teenagers will be too busy doing there own things.
shout the older ones to the movies so you can take the 3 younger ones somewhere cool.
