Mouthing off about beliefs only seems to vex everyone who doesn't share your belief doesn't it?

Or perhaps that's what you want to do, make people feel vexed?... surely not?

Apparently God knows your thoughts, yet he wont tell you his identity so its best to worship no gods than worship the wrong one.

I think it's a good strategy if you don't talk about it, but reveal in who you are that you have been touched by some sort of divine light. People will be bound to ask what's up with you. If you don't tell them, they'll be dying to know what it is about you. The longer you don't tell anybody, the more people will want to know. Then you could get up on a big stage in front of thousands of eager listeneners.

The only way this works though is if you HAVE been touched by some sort of divine light, because it shows. The rest of us mere mortals can tell others just how holier than they we think we are, but it will fall on deaf ears for good reason. Actions speak louder than words, and the words that follow your actions should be spoken softly to willing ears.

I think that the best thing people can do is just keep their religious and political views to themselves as it does nothing but start arguments and fights. However since we are on the religion and spirituality section then that's what it's about religion although i feel that people should use this forum for what it was meant for and that is to learn about all of the different religions and move on.

Well, according to Matthew 6, Christians are suppose to keep their traps shut because only hypocrits hem and haw where they are seen by other people. But, according to a pentacostal preacher I saw on Sunday, Christians are suppose to hem and haw about their faith all the time.

I guess it depends upon how much advertising your pastor needs so he can get a new mercedes.

Don't mouth off but remember how Christ taught. Stand up for what you believe in but do it in a loving, patient way. I'm still learnig to do this. All we can do is tell and pray. This is all thats required. In Matthew it says to go and teach all nations and that's all we are to do. Share with those who are willing to listen and those who aren't, shake the dust off your feet and keep going

Not if you're prepared to enter rational debate about your beliefs. Everyone's entitled to voice an opinion. Trouble starts when you declare all other beliefs redundant or worse by fiat.

Unless you can prove what you think is accurate then yes it is best not to discuss it!
It is better to stick with the facts and let the fantasy to the movies! It can make a good movie but a horrible reality!

Yes, I do. I don't talk about it in my everyday life to unbelievers. I leave people alone. They know what I stand for, and I pray for them privately. I wouldn't be much of a Christian if I wasn't concerned. But on Y!A, if people don't want us to answer questions as we see it then they shouldn't ask.

Jesus suggests that we pray in the closet, away from other people. I´m not sure he would approve of people using the Internet to tell people how Holy they are.

The best evangelization is through one's actions. If your faith doesn't make you behave differently, there's not really that much to it, is there? Curiosity is the better classroom.
