FYI - shedding is NOT caused by dry skin! Dogs shed twice a year and there's nothing you can do about it.

What you can do during the time your dog's shedding, is brush him thoroughly every day to get all the dead hair out. The other thing is to make sure he's eating a premium dog food with about 1 tablespoon of veg. oil added daily (or a salmon oil capsule). That helps keep skin and coat in top condition. Also be careful not to bath too often and when you do, use dog shampoo and rinse really well.

Shedding is usually caused by dry skin.
There are over the counter remidies.
Usually oil. or liquids you can pour over the dogs food. it wont happen over night. Until then. Brush the dog with the grain. Then follow up by rubbing your hands along the grain, firmlly. This will stimulate the natural oils to come out. You'll be able to rub your hands togather afterwords and see the oil roll off your hands.

It's important to NOT bath your animal to often this will wash off the natural oils and cause the skin to dry out thus cause shedding.
When you do bath your dog use dog shampoo. SOME human soaps will cause drying of the skin, causeing sheding.

BE SURE to rinse all soap's out completlly!!!!
