In Judaism the age of modesty begins at 3

Rabbi DovBer Pinson: Three is the appropriate age for parents to begin dressing their daughters modestly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With regards to sexual issues, the Sages have determined that at the age of three a girl is a viable sexual person -- as opposed to a male who reaches sexual viability at the age of nine. (This is despite the fact that it is forbidden for a parent to marry a daughter until she has matured and is capable of consenting to the proposed match). For example, the laws of yichud (which forbid unrelated members of the opposite sex to be secluded together) begin at the age of three and nine for females and males, respectively. Therefore, the laws of modesty, which are primarily a way of preserving one's sexual privacy, begin when a child reaches the age of three.

This questioner poses as a Jew and writes terrible anti-Christian diatribes. He continues to use this forum to mis-portray the Jewish religion, pretending to do so from within.

His statements are taken from anti-Semitic sources and should be dismissed out of hand. That could be called plagiarism, even when it is done from a despicable racist source.

His objective appears to be making Christians hate the Jews by his nonsensical inaccuracies. One must recognize this racist imposter and not let him bait us.

I wonder where you have seen naked Christian children? If you are Jewish, you are able to keep the laws of food, dress and sanitation without expecting others to do the same.

Jews do not usually expect other people of different spiritual paths to follow Kosher regulations or the Feasts and High Holy Days. Why would it bother you that one particular 'rule' is being broken?

Gentile Christians are at liberty to follow the constraints of the Old Testament, but this is not a requirement. We are no longer "under the law" Paul the Apostle made that quite clear.

Please shut your eyes if you see a toddler in little or no clothing. It may keep you from feeling upset.

Well I'm Christian, though I don't attend any church. I can say that there is no way my three year old daughter would be running around w/out clothes on. It has nothing to do with religion, but rather with what's appropriate. I think it's more about teaching our daughters to be ladies and to understand that they are special and their bodies are special, so they need to protect and value them. Not to mention that we, as parents, don't know what people around us are thinking. We can't tell if someone might want to harm our child. That is awful, but we must take it into consideration as to protect our children.

On the other hand, I have a 2 year old son and he often runs around our home w/out a shirt on. He does wear pants though! :)

Says Rabbi DovBer Pinson...
But who is he to the rest of the world. No one...
Teaching kids that some parts are private is totally different from covering them up because they've reached a certain age.
Teach them self respect. Teach them respect for others. But don't teach them that their bodies are shameful, which is what the above statement says to me. My kid can run around the house in her underwear, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have to cover up if there are other people around. That's having respect for herself and others.
Stop judging others - it isn't for you to decide (or the Rabbi).

I don't know about all this religious dogma, but generally I don't let any children run around naked- male or female.
I have a little cousin who love to be naked, but I dress her after her bath so she doesn't catch a cold.
I know many parents let their kids sleep nude or without underware and I think that is there choice.

Xtians? If the X is meant to represent Christ's cross, surely the 'X' represents 'Christ'. You'd then have to spell it Xians.

To answer your question; it's because 4yos are hot mamas, and Xians appreciate a good thing when they see it.

the human body is natural, weirdos that like little kids aren't. therefore, the weirdos should be covered [locked] up, and let the kids do as they wish!!!

Hi, Christian mom here. I don't know where you're getting your info or what you are being taught but my kids have never run around naked in front of us (mom and dad) or each other.

We're also fairly modest, too.

Have a nice day. : )
