Sorry for the inflamatory question - but it tends to draw more responders...

Ive noticed something lately - not that this is a new phenomenon or anything... But, it has not escaped my attention that it seems that the poorest and least intelligent humans are the one's doing the majority of the procreating (no offense to those of you who arent poor or unintelligent!)

Can anyone explain why fundies tend to have larger families that non-religious people? Why rich folks have less children than poor folks? Why members of MENSA have less children than WalMart workers? Im seeing a coorelation between IQ and number of children - and Im wondering why that is. (I cant answer myself, for I am an Atheist with pretty much no desire for children....)

Beta-fishy - as you can see, your opinion means squat to me as well. Seems several people, including Dreamer, have admitted this was not an ignorant question. So, YDoncha_Blowme?

usually poor people lack the means to go get on birth control or any form of family planning. they are usually also slightly less educated and less intelligent, which leads to stupid decisions and bad choices, and getting knocked up at an early age. it doesn't make much sense because they can't afford to take care of these babies. or maybe they have the kids so that they can get more welfare benefits and get more money back on their earned income credit just for having babies? good question.

I know what you are saying but you have said it all wrong. I have one child. I will not have another. I have four brothers. My parents were and are uneducated. They had five children. We did not have a lot growing up and my parents would actually say that it was hard to put food on the table because they had five of us. I love my parents but that wasn't so smart.

I have one brother that has five children and has been divorced three times. Another, has two and will not have anymore. The third has two and can not have anymore-he would if he could. Finally, the last one only wanted one, has the one and like me is set.

Two out of our five broke the cycle. Our siblings do not understand why we like our jobs, our child, our present and future. I love children. I just don't want anymore. What's wrong with that?

I do not live off the system. I pay taxes for those that do. Wealthy people know that putting a child through college is expensive. I am not wealthy but my daughter has the intelligence to go to any college she wants. I have the ability to send her because I only have to worry about paying one tuition.

I have a college degree. I am the only one of my family that does. I am not a snob but I expect that my family thinks I am. (Execpt the one brother) So you see, those that want to break the mold will. Those that want to live off the system will. They will teach these things to their children and the cycle will continue.

I also have a bumper sticker on my car that says, "Stupid people shouldn't breed."

Dang. I'm poor and a MENSA member. I just never fit in, lol.

But to answer your question, I think a lot of religions 'frown upon' birth control so people of those faiths might have more children. Add that to the studies showing a relationship between education (hard for many poor people to obtain) and religiosity, and you may have your answer.

fairly, maximum celebrities supply their youngsters accepted run-of-the-mill names. on the different hand, there are fairly some accepted those who call their youngsters Rain, Rainbow, River, Falcon... The record is going on. issues to keep in options - a million) we undergo in options something unusual a lot extra useful than something envisioned; so unusual names stand out to us; 2) Celebrities are in a public eye, so we are extra probable to entice close what they call their youngsters, while the completed time you would possibly want to stay next door to some whose youngsters names are River and Rain, and also you would by no potential even know that (sure, i in my opinion knew a pair whose youngsters names were precisely that). A extra precise question to ask might want to be - why do human beings supply their children unusual names? properly, human beings like to get imaginitive, and many times their creativity extends into naming the children. before my nephew replaced into born, my brother and his spouse did study on the data of the call attractiveness of their city over the perfect few years. they chanced on a acceptance that replaced into purely given on the classic to at least one boy a year. so they stated, "this year it will be our son." So, the newborn has a uncommon call. So what? no longer a biggie. (And no, they are no longer celebrities. yet they are imaginitive and unique human beings of their own way.)

Rich people don't have time for kids, they have too much going on. Poor people get more money for having kids. I'm middle class with 2 kids, I work for the rich people and pay for the poor people. That stinks, we get the bad end of the deal.

I'm just glad to hear you know yourself well enough to feel no need to procreate. I wish more people would think long and hard about being a parent before they jump in. Good for you!

I don't want to have kids either. I believe there are enough (too many) ppl on earth already.
I might adopt (After age 35 or so), if I have enough extra money, just to give someone a good home.

with NAFTA, illegal aliens, loss of automotive sales because of
excellent management, mechanization. etc have created more time
for these unintelligent (unemployed) folks to spend together
