How can I stop my gaming addiction?

I have a serious problem, I cant stop playing games. I will put games before my college work, familiy and everything else possible. What can I do to help stop myself playing games?

How about instead of stopping your addiction, you turn it in to a positive?. Have you ever considered working in the industry? Maybe you can use your skills to create, design, program, produce or develop games? It is a difficult field to get in too, but very rewarding once you are there!

Put all your games in a lock box delete them from your pc and give someone in your family the key to the lock box. the only time you can play a game is after you have spent time with family, gone to colledge and worked! this will give you the games that you are addicted to you has rewards for doin what you need to do.

First off which games you play(curious lol)
Ok well what IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII did was....
I counted the time I played games (usually) a day then instead of playing games I took that time, and hit the gym -- OH MY GOD -- SO worth it to not play games...

ALSO -- took that time and went to college

Now- I have something to show for my time instead of a character that will be useless when the next patch comes out ;p

oh and the sex, and alcohol, and all out IRL fun.

I've been off for 1.5years(but did come back to play -- 1-3 hours max) rarely, and no TV also. :P

Yeah if you love gaming enough you should get a job in that field. But if you don't think that it's for you, you should find new hobbies or something that will keep you from playing video games.
