Whenever I see a suicidal person all I have to do is mention "ANGRY EYE OF SAURON SENDING YOU TO THE FLAMING RIVERS OF HELLFIRE AND @#$-@#$ING DEVILS THAT LOOK LIKE HELEN THOMAS NUDE ENDLESSLY AND FOR ALL OF @#$%ING ETERNITY RAPING YOU UP THE !@@#!"...and all of the sudden they immediately change their minds and start being happy. It works on ME as well. Go figure.
Do you want to take away my best psychotherapy tool? Is that is? Huh? HUH?!

If you believed the sky was purple when it is in fact blue, I feel you should need to know that the sky is in fact blue and why it's blue. If you continue to believe it's purple, I will just consider you mentally ill and in need of help or therapy.
Maybe you should try to avoid FEAR TACTICS and find out why they are suicidal in the first place...
I can't imagine religion would get very far without FEAR.

I have NO interest in convincing people that God is bogus. I have an interest in convincing people that creationism is bogus...because it is...and I have an interest in convincing people that it's in EVERYONE'S interests to keep this society secular. I want to convince people that justifying hatred with religion is wrong.
As far as convincing them there is no God....I couldn't if I wanted to...and I don't want to. Religion has done a lot of good for a lot of people. Can anyone picture the civil rights movement without the black churches?
All i want to do is convince people that intolerance is wrong.

Oh, sure, it'll cause pain. When I see christians asking 'how can there be morals without god' I fear the worst.
Still, growing pains are part of the process.
