How long will it take for me to get my tax return direct deposit in my account? I filed on February 16th. They told me I should get it deposited in my account on March 2nd. Is it true that it will take that long to get my return deposited. And also does a direct deposited tax return need to clear?
Thanks,
Layah

Thank you all so much. I can't wait until March 2nd. I'm gonna get my son a sidekick. He has been pretty good this year.
Thanks you guys,
I will have to use this site more often.

Here is the IRS direct deposit schedule, and as you can see, you are suppose to get your refund on March 2nd.

They usually update the IRS website on the Wed before you are scheduled to get a direct deposit. So, I would not think your status would change until 2/28 and then it will let you know your direct deposit date of 3/2. My status did not change until about 6AM on that Wed morning before my Friday direct deposit! And, the funds were available immediately once it was posted to my account. Have fun with your refund!

After everything is accepted and processed, it usually takes around 1-2 weeks to get everything deposited in your account. Once it is direct deposited, it is considered cleared. There is no waiting period.

That is not a long time at all. When we filed by mail and waited for a check, it was 6-7 weeks. Two weeks is usually how long mine takes to hit my account. I say PERFECT !!

Remember, if you are getting a lot back, you could change your exemptions at work so you get back more on every check, then save it. Then you won't be so desperate for your refund next year.

Its takes on average 2 weeks, so the timing is correct.

You can use the funds they day they show up-- no need to 'clear'.

I filed mine on the 4th and got it back on the 19th. Ten business days. Once it's in your account, it's available to spend.

They dump the money in by ACH, so it's typically live the minute it hits your bank.

And that's only two weeks. That's pretty darn good, all things considered.
