I like both of the names. I know a number of Joes (Josephs), including my husband, and it's a nice, honest name. But the name Eric (except spelled Erik), is on my short list. How about Eric Joseph or Joseph Eric, so you don't have to choose?

it's pretty sad if you can't decide on a name for your own child, but joe is a cuter name for a baby. however, this kid is gonna grow up and at that point, eric will be a cooler name. maybe you could name him Joe Eric or Eric Joe so he has both. I know that sounds kinda weird. but. hey, it's just a suggestion.

I like Joseph or Joel & call him Joe for short. That way when he gets older he can write a full name on a job application etc...& it sounds stronger.
Hope this halped you!

Eric is definitely cooler than Joe. Joe is boring. But its your choice.

Joe is definitely cooler. Also more flexible, they can call themselves Joey or Joseph when they get older if they prefer

I like Eric, though Joe is ok, it's overused, very common.
