I am thinking this is a really hard question, when i started to think about it i really struggled to put a list into any kind of order. Is it harder to differentiate between the power of a body shot than say a left hook, i mean you only really know how much it hurt if the opponent goes down.

Some great boxers mentioned here including Hopkins and Chavez.....but I cannot believe no one has mentioned Marco Antonio Barrera. He is wicked when it comes to body shots.

This a very difficult question and a good one sir! Here are my top 5:

1. Ruben Olivares was a murderous body puncher in his prime.
2. Mike McCallum obviously known as "The Body Snatcher"
3. Rocky Marciano hurt you wherever he hit you!
4. Julio Cesar Chavez had some mean body punches.
5. Joe Frazier like the Rock could really kill the body!

Honorable mention to Jack Dempsey and Khaosai Galaxy

The blogbaba had to think about this one awhile. I decided to narrow it down to modern era fighters simply to get a handle on it but I could't do it. I put Salvador Sanchez at number five, and Micky Doyle at four knowing full well it would be controversial at best. Mike McCallum at three and Jack Dempsy at two. I think the best body shot of all time was thrown by Joe Louis to avenge a loss to a certian Nazi paratrooper who ended up selling soda pop for the Coke company, so I gave the Brown Bomber the number one spot.
