So there's this guy named Matt, He's a grade older but he's 19, I've known him for eight years when I was in third me and his lil bro *my grade* always fought and Matt always defended me. He and I have been really close since then including the fact that he lives a block and a half away.

Lately he's been confusing me, being more protective of me when I told him I used to cut, I've been sick for the last four days missing school, so when I called to see what I missed in our Japanese class, he told me he'll tutor me to catch me up, and he's a great cook and today he offered to make alot of chocolate based sweets and come and watch movies. He's never done this for any of his closer friends.
He also likes giving me hugs, teasing me and challenging me to sports that he knows he's better at. And likes to steal my hot chocolate... He treats me differently then his own sister...

I want to ask him to Junior Prom, should I? and how I've never been good with asking things like this...

aww this is such a good question. I say go for it he sounds like he is a very good friend and he is obviously very commited to you as a friend. Imagine if you guys were dating he would be like the perfect boyfriend. But let me get off the material girl boyfriend type thing and get to the courage type thing. I think you should gather up alot of courage and just go for it. If he really treats in a very special obvious way the he's obviously to shy to ask you himself so maybe he waiting for you to ask him. I say that if you like him as much as he likes you then just find the perfect moment or set a frienly *date* (suprise suprise!) and just ask him. I hope this works out. If not by my advice then someone else's or your own intuition and I hope you 2 can be happily ever after.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

As someone who is quite old enough to be your parent. I can say that looking back at my life I do not regret a single time that I asked someone out and was shot down but I can't help but think that I passed an opportunity for every time that I didn't ask out someone I liked.

Do it. Now. This is the kind of thing people dream about. Litterally. Sounds like its right out of a cute fairy tale.
