would you Atheists be afraid to touch it like the bad guys did in the movie?

It's an enjoyable movie, even with Burton's terrible, completely over-the-top acting. No, I wouldn't be afraid of an old piece of cloth, but I'd probably stand in line to see it at a museum.

I doubt it would worry them much. I'm afraid if the "Robe" were still around today, it would quickly become an idol, and people would be turning from Jesus to the Robe. That would be very offensive to Him.
