I am going to Telluride in about 2 weeks. I am wondering if anyone can compare the skiing there to other ski resorts out west. I am most familiary with Deer Valley and Park City Utah. Are the runs similar? Any comparisons would be great.

Telluride is sort of two mountains - a steep side on the old town side, and a less steep side on the Telluride Village side. The steeps are comparable to or steeper than anything in Deer Valley. There is lots of cruising on the Village side.
Warning - It is about 14 years since I skied Telluride, and longer since I skied Deer Valley.

Telluride is a great mountain. You will fun. I skied Deer Valley and Park City when I was in grade school, and Telluride in College, so I had a lot more ability to explore Telluride than I did the other moutains. But from what I remember it was technically harder (and more fun) than PC and DV. Snow quality?...I guss that depends on too many factors to answer. Everyone has their favorite. From what I remember, Telluride seemed more open than PC with the technical challenge of the upper parts of PC. It seemed more rugged and rocky, over all, as well.

I have been to Telluride, Deer Valley, and Park City. The skiing in all three is pretty similar. I prefer Deer Valley of all three because of the atmosphere and more fun slopes. As far as the skiing itself goes, in Telluride it's just not as good as Utah skiing.
Are you for sure going to Telluride? Because that's not the best place to ski in Colorado at all. I would highly recommend Aspen (bit expensive, but definitely worth it), or Vail, or Keystone. But, I'm sure you'll have fun on Telluride.
I'm actually going out to Colorado for Spring Break too.

I have never skied Telluride, but really really want to. I live in Utah, and ski at Alta, and sometimes Snowbird. I would imagine that those two mountains will have more in common with Telluride than the Park City side of the Wasatch, which typically receives less snow, and has less aggressive terrain, on the whole.

Telluride is an awesome ski resort right up there on par with Heavenly, Park City, Breckenridge and Beaver Creek. In other words, it is a world-class location with all the amenities. A lot of the World Cup and US Ski Team skiiers go there because it offers a wide range of skill level options.
