Sequester kitty away from the house, and flea bomb the house.
Check with your vet, as some flea bombs interact with whatever flea treamtent you use on your cats.

I reccomend Frontline. NEVER HARTZ!
if you love your kitty,
visit www.hartzvictims.org
remove kitty, take her for a ride with you for a few hours, in her carrier whil eyou bomb. Open windows for a few minutes when you return... or keep her with a neighbor or some such.
Be careful!

Check with you vet on flea medicine for the cat. Flea bomb your house. It is a lot of work. Anything living must be removed, all surfaces washed afterwards and any linen. Also, it's a good idea to constantly wash anything your cat sleeps on and to vacuum a lot. This will get rid of any flea eggs. I had a cat for 21 years and gave her a tiny pinch of Brewer's yeast in her food. No fleas after that. This was way before Adavantage etc. She was an indoor cat but fleas can come in on your shoes or through windows. Those little buggers can jump. Good luck.

The most common flea is the Cat Flea. It's found on cats, dogs, and even humans. They can live in the carpet, on blankets, bedding, etc. for quite some time. Fleas can feel the vibration in the ground as an individual (whether four legged or two legged). That's when they begin to move about and attach themselves to a moving object.

Without having to use insecticides keep your carpets vacummed and wash anything that your cat sits/sleeps (towels, blankets, etc.) on washed. If your cat sleeps with you a lot then washing the sheets and clothing as well. If you interact with cats or dogs that are not yours....then wash the clothes and wash your hands.

I had the same problem...if you have a basement or anything..you can put the cat in there or any other area that doesnt have fleas with a towel at the bottom of the door. give the cat a bath in flea shampoo first...bomb the house with a bomb in every room(except the one the cat is in)...if you can take the cat somewhere then do that...get the spray stuff....spray all the furniture and upholestry....wash ALL your clothes and blankets and throw rugs!!! you may need to bomb the house a couple of times!!!!

First of all go to the vet and get Advantage for your cat. ABout $10 a month and will keep your home and cat flea free.

This alone will eventually rid your house of fleas, but if you want quick action from your vet you can also get a spray for your house.

Put your cat in a carrier and put it outside, or in a basement or at a neighbours while you spray for 3 hours. Then let it back.

Get the cat out of the house before you spray/ flea bomb your house. That way the cat won't get killed.

Your house is infested, not the cat, fleas don't live on animals, they live in the carpet and furniture. I tried bug bombs, they don't work. Salt is the best for wall to wall carpet, sprinkle it on liberally on the whole carpet, wait 30 minutes to an hour, then vacuum. It works the same as when you put salt on a snail.
