There is a vague reference to being pierced. But that's about it.

There are a lot of prophecy's concerning the Branch or the Messiah. You can look them up if you actually care, which I assume you don't.
If you are a reader I suggest reading "Monotheism" by a former Nun and the "Jesus Dynasty" by an archaeologist. These should give you an idea of the prophecy concerning Christ from an academic point of view as opposed to a religious point of view. There are tons more religious books which you probably couldn't stomach reading.
If you want to read something really interesting read the 22nd Psalm and then read some of the words Christ said on the cross. I believe Christ was reciting the 22nd Psalm on the Cross and never had a "moment of doubt or fear".
Christ did not come to change the law, not one word of it, until it was finished. The law changed when Christ was crucified and he said "it is done" or "it is finished".
You can try the original Hebrew (Matthew) or Greek (John, Luke and Mark) if you like. Most people think the four gospels were all originally in Greek.
Interesting reading, for example the word "carpenter" comes from the Latin, it means "chariot builder". Nothing to do with the construction trades at the time of Christ, but, it does now and when the Bible was translated to English. Christ builds the Chariot that takes us to heaven. You just have to do your research, or you can just ask provocative questions on yahoo and continue to think just as you do.
I figure this is just an anti-christian posting, but, just in case you are really interested these will be a good place to start.

the ETERNAL SPIRIT that men use the term god to describe put a curse on the earth because of the shed blood by cain of abel and adams fall from grace by disobeying the command not to eat of the tree of knowledge. To remove this curse a sacrifice was required, cursed is he who hangs on a treeO.T. and just as aslan removed the ancient curse in the film THE LION, WITCH AND THE WARDROVE, so the messiah of innocent blood removed mankinds curse by his willing death. BY the way if you think that this is all bull, silly superstition or non scientific un evolutionary crap about the bible research the history of the human race as far back as books will take you and see how intently all peoples believed in witchcraft, sorcerey and demonic fallen angels.

8. The Messiah would be wounded by His enemies
Old Testament (Isaiah 53:5) says:
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
New Testament (Matthew 27:26) says:
Then he released Barabbas to them. But he had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.
11. The Messiah would have his hands and feet pierced
Old Testament (Psalm 22:16) says:
Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.
New Testament (Luke 23:33) says:
When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals--one on his right, the other on his left.
12. The Messiah would be crucified with thieves
Old Testament (Isaiah 53:12) says:
Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
New Testament (Matthew 27:38) says:
Two robbers were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left.

It isn't, at least not without a real interpretive stretch.
Alexia -- wiith all due respect - the OT prophecies say nothing of a Messiah saving anybody from hell. I've read the Old Testament. I can't find any verses that say what you say they say. If you'd care to refer to one, I would be much obliged.
Neither Psalm 22, nor Isaiah 53 says anything about a Messiah or his purpose.
Wow.... I read the citations listed below.. and man, if you actually read those passages, it is quite a stretch, and you have to twist the language quite a bit.

Galatians 3:19-29 19 ¶ Wherefore then serveth the regulation? It became further because of transgressions, until eventually the seed ought to come to whom the promise became made; and it became ordained by angels interior the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator isn't a mediator of one, yet God is one. 21 ¶ Is the regulation then adverse to the resources of God? God forbid: for if there have been a regulation given which will have given life, verily righteousness ought to were by the regulation. 22 notwithstanding the Scripture hath concluded all below sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ would accept to them that trust. 23 ¶ yet earlier faith got here, we were kept below the regulation, close up unto the religion which ought to later on be printed. 24 Wherefore the regulation became our schoolmaster to convey us unto Christ, that we'd be justified by faith. 25 yet after that faith is come, we are now no longer below a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the toddlers of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as lots of you as were baptized into Christ have placed on Christ. 28 there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor loose, there is neither male nor lady: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs in accordance to the promise.
