8 ft...with lights...hmmmm........i would say you're going to want at least four yards per table. yeah you'll have 12 feet of tulle, but that gives it enough to hang down on the sides.

You aready know the lenght of the tables (8 feet). Measure the width. now multiply the width by 2. Then multiply the length by 2 (2 x 8 = 16 feet). Add those two figures together to get the length for the perimeter (outside edge of the two tables) that is, if your talking about going aroung the edges of the tables only.

Example :

Two tables that are 8' long by 4' wide.
2 x 8 = 16' and 2 x 4 = 8'
(Add) 16 + 8 = 24' total

If your talking about covering the table surface, then its:

Multiply the table lenght (8') by the table width (x) to get total square foot coverage. Since you have two tables, just double your answer.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

What kind of tables are they?? Are they 8 foot rounds or 8 foot rectangles?? Just to compare, a 6 foot round table needs a 132 inch round table linen to touch the floor ... anything less than that and it won't look right on the table. Likewise, a 6 foot rectangle table is going to need a 90 inch by 132 inch table linen to touch the ground. I would estimate that an 8 foot round would need at least a 160 inch round ... give or take a few inches.

8 ft table times 1 1/2 the length = 12 ft or 4 yards.
If you want a deeper drape;
2 times the length or 16 ft =5 1/3 yds

Measure 'all around' the 'total table' ... and multiply that number by 2 ... plus if you want to put the same material 'on top' of the tables, you'll need to add that 'number' in to your 'total' and if you measure in 'inches' then you should convert it to 'yards' ...
