When I was younger I had a bible that had the daily reading checklist in it, as well as an index in the back where you could look up readings based on your feelings or situation (i.e. In times of sadness, happiness, illness, etc.) Under each situation, it would list several readings. This bible was lost in one of my many moves, and I was hoping to find another similar to it.

Some people seem to have misunderstood what I was looking for. I'm not looking for a way to make the bible EASY to understand. The point is that I had that bilbe as a child, and it was given to me by my father. I want to find something similar to it. I am in no way saying that I want to discredit the mysteries of the bible or make them easier or more complex. I'm just looking for something that I had as a child.

It sounds like you might almost want a devotional instead of a formal bible. But if I'm wrong, I suggest you look at a study bible. I can't offer a specific title for you, but this site will give you some idea as to what's out there: http://www.catholicbiblesource.com/ Go check out your local megabookstore - you'd be surprised at how many bibles they carry.

(A personal favorite of mine for people of any age is the Catholic Youth Bible - http://www.smp.org/CYB2005.cfm It was written with teens in mind, but the content is really wonderful.)

do no longer pay attention to Chris aka Matthew. he preaches the heresy of basic believism. The KJV isn't a Catholic Bible - 7 books have been bumped off. i might advise the NAB Catholic learn Bible or the hot Jerusalem Bible.

Go to Barnes and Noble or Borders or any Catholic bookstore if you have one in your area. You will find an impressive classifcation of different Bibles. Try the New American Bible. I believe that is what we read from, or a version of it! Good luck!

A translation that reads easily - as opposed to a serious study Bible - but is faithful to the original texts, is the New Jerusalem Bible. I like it for "just reading".

I picked up an inexpensive version at Half Priced Books. I think it cost me $5.

There is one where there are pictures and it explains the stories. I think is 'Catholicism for Teenagers' or something like that. You can go to any Catholic websites or go to Barnes and Nobles.

Find a Christian Book store in your area. If they don't stock it they will order it for you.

Try "The God Delusion" by Dawkins. It's worth it.
