I'm looking for unique toys for my pit she gets bored with her raw hide bones and any other kind of toy she chews up in 2 seconds flat. She likes to open box's up and scoot them all over the house but one pounce and it's all over for that box! I've tried the kong toys...she chews them up, I've done the tire swing (outside toy of course) and that last only a minute or 2. But I really need some good inside toys that can hang tuff with her. Preferable something she has to work at. Please do NOT tell me to excersie her because she gets plenty of that in a day. She is just an active dog who likes to play with toys. Any suggestions????

if you think you have a problem try owning a english mastiff.every thing i give him he destroys in seconds it seems like.he loves racuetballs and i get him the horse balls with the handle on them from the feed store but, one of his favorite things to chew on is tree limbs from any kind of fruit tree.he also plays with soccer balls but i don't think your dogs head is big enough maybe try a mini soccerball from walmart.

Pitbulls are an extremely active dog, regardless of the amount of exercise they get. Unfortunately, she tears things up because it's exciting to her. If she can't tear it up, chances are she'll get bored with it and find something else. My point? It's not finding her something indestructable that's the answer. It's teaching her that destroying things isn't acceptable. By giving her something new to tear up every day, you encourage the thought process. You need to instead practice training her that destroying things is unacceptable in the first place. She has her bone to chew on, she doesn't need much of anything else. (There are bones other than rawhide that might be suitable, you can buy them in the grocery store in the meat department, it's just a stew bone. Boiling it helps make the bone stronger, though it's not necessary. There will be meat on the bone though, boiling it down gets rid of most of it, while just giving it to her raw could be rather messy for an inside bone.) But first and foremost, if you want her to stop tearing up her toys, you need to teach her that you don't approve. That goes double for her tearing up things around the house, even if it's just an old cardboard box that you don't need. Allowing it creates negative reinforcement. This could result in other negative behaviors as time goes on. Good Luck!

My 2yr old male pit loves the large ropes w/knots tied in them. He often wants to play tug of war however, but is usually content with chewing on them. I've tried the inner tube tied to a tree, which he loves, but doesn't last. The black (super duty) kongs tend to last a little while longer than the red ones. One thing to remember, these are pits were talking about, they were born to chew. The large ropes tend to last the longest in my experience, but tend to leave strands of rope hair all over the house, which I don't mind. I was wery about owning a pit, but have come to realize that these are some amazing animals. Hope this helps.

She destroys a tire swing?! Try using a larger tire but with the tire comes the steel belts of a radial which could hurt... Nyla bones are pretty good but I have the same issue. It just takes alot of toys. I give real bones which are nutritious as well as tough to get through...they are still destroyed quickly but that is the APBT. You gotta love it!

If you have annoying neighbours, you could use them for toys, I mean eventually your Pit Bull will be chewing on them anyways.
