I am sure you could use chili seasoning. I think the only difference would be that it would have more chili powder in it than taco seasoning. You can make your own taco seasoning with chili powder, cumin, garlic salt, and onions (dehydrated or fresh). Just adjust the seasonings to suit your taste. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I do not use taco seasoning because i always have these spices on hand .(I dont know how much meat you cooked and i always cook for an army so just season to taste(your taste) chili powder, ground cumim(i,ve used the seed ) salt pepper, garlic(prefer crushed, chopped )powder is fine, grated onion or onion powder.
if youre out of these things your chili seasoning should work fine.may be a little hotter. good luck

Sure, but if you have the rest of these spices, whip up a batch. I keep mine in a little tupperware bowl, covered, in my cabinet. Much cheaper than buying packets.

6 teaspoons chili powder
5 teaspoons paprika
4 1/2 teaspoons cumin
3 teaspoons onion powder
2 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Chili powder won't taste the same, but you can use it along with garlic and onion powder and maybe some hot sauce, it won't taste the same, but it will be good.

Yes, add chili powder, garlic, oregano, and cumin. That's what's in taco seasoning.

chili seasoning is good, but add garlic powder and onion powder too... plus a little salt or use a little beef bullion. A little Salsa or a little stewed tomatoes gives it a nice tomatoey flavor.

I don't imagine that there is that much difference between the two types of seasoning.

you can do whatever you want.

It won't taste exactly like Taco meat, but it'll be good.
