my nieghbors dog a rotti named sheba has attacked my chow. the nieghbors had let there rotti loose and then there rotti came up into my nana's yard and attacked my chow. we had to bring her to the vets and she had 7 puncher wounds on her body. and the vets had said to call the dog people and we did and they called the nieghbors and they said that they have to get rid of the dog or they will come and take her. and our nieghbors lied to the dog people saying that our dog was in there yard. and she wasnt. she was in ours. playing with our pit bull. and my chow is 8. and the rotti is about 3. and my dog never does anything to there dogs or them. and my nana owns the property and our niehgbors are renting from us. and my nana and her bf are gonna change the lease. and they did get rid of the rotti about 3 days after. but they rotti always attacks our dog. and she also attacked our nieghbors dog. and they lie so much. like they say dogs turn out to be just like there owners.

You can take your neighbor to small claims court and sue for the cost of the vet bills. You do not need a lawyer for small claims court. However, make sure you have all your paperwork and evidence together. Bring the vet bill and pics of your dog's wounds to court. If the dog is running loose a lot, you need to try to get your other neighbors to sign a statement saying that the dog runs free a lot. This will strengthen your case.
I'm sorry your dog was attacked. Sometimes, dogs are just like that, but it was the neighbors responsibility to keep her dog on a leash! I hope your chow feels better soon.

Dogs will act like the owners to a certain amount, in the thought that IF the owners allow the dog to do bad things the dog will think it's OK.
Thats pretty much all there is to that. A dog allowed to run free, AND attack will continue to do this and unfortunitlly will eventually have to be put down. The dog was never corrected so it thinks is OK
My last dogs were Rots. Male and female. My X kicked me out and insisted she could handle the dogs. She was never home and the dogs broke out of a fenced in yard for self preservation. One dog got ran over and the other was put down for being a visious animal. They was normal when I lived there and neglected to the point of personality change.
Some people shouldnt own animals. NOT EVEN A GOLD FISH

well like others have said you should get them to pay for vet bills. What did they do with the dog? By law if a dog attacks anyone or another dog (I think) they are suppose to have the dog quarrantined for at least 10 days at a vet or shelter to monitor for rabies or have the dog euthanized and have the head sent off to test for rabies, but that is only if the dog isnt current on Rabies I believe. If they did something else with the dog they could be in even more trouble because they didnt have it monitored. you should definitely get the neighbors to write a petition about how the dog runs loose. Ask your vet what to do in a case like this because they will be able to tell you if you can sue them for damages and see if they have a case on them getting rid of the dog after it attacked yours That is all I can suggest. good luck
