Yeah, and they don't even realize that in mythology Jesus wasn't the only God to die and come back. There's tons of other examples.

First of all, Jesus was fully human as well as fully God at the same time, so for Him, dying was just as bad as it would be for you. an example where we can see that he was human as well as God because before he was taken away to be killed, he prayed to God and asked Him that i there was any other way, that he could take that instead of dying, but there was no other way.
He loved every one, no mater how bad they were/are, so much that he was willing to be very painfully killed on the cross for our sins. Jesus was also publicly humiliated and mistreated and falsely accused. (the process of dying on the cross is extremely cruel and painful, it can sometimes take hours to die. This is why the guard stuck a spear in Jesus' side, cos this is what they did to see if some one was dead or not.) Would u be willing to do that for your people? I dont think so.
Secondly, we are not grateful that he died, but the fact that he died AND was resurrected. He came back to life, he defeated death. Have u ever heard of a person doing that?

can't people comprehend the simplest things?
1) in greek mythology/roman mythology, a God could be mortal or immortal.
2) God isn't part of greek mythology. Christ (as every human being) was both mortal and immortal. What separated him from normal man was that he was God incarnate: the fullness of the trinity as flesh.
3) Christ, as God, had to cut himself off from his own Divinity, so human rules and limitations applied: he had to Pray to God the Father for power/guidance, he had to work according to God the Father's will, he could actually feel physical pain, was milited by time, etc.
Christ died more than a mortal death. we just leave our bodies. Christ left with the sins of the world on his shoulders. we die cause no man lasts forever. Christs died so we could "live" forever.

It is counterintuitive that a man dies yet a great world religion can start from him. Yet Christianity has stood the test of time. Worth thinking God's existience when many people choose this strange path due to thier own experiential evidence
Blood is the source of life. If you loose it you have no life. Eternal blood was shed to share eternal life with all mankind. Truth is often stranger than fiction.

Jesus dying was a good thing because he came back to life! Jesus lived a perfect life therefore he could pay the penalty for our sins. That means he died so that we don't have to! He was buried and then was raised 3 days later! If He hadn't done all 3 of those things (perfect life, death, resurrection) it woudl mean nothing. But He did it all so we can have life though Him!

I don't see it that way, I have never ear a Christian been proud, any time that some one die, Not Christian would be proud of this, although we look at death like a transition, from one World of God to the other?, Some of us, (We know), that there isn't death, after living this material Body, but only more Life.

It is a sacrifice.
Symbolic of payment.
He did it for YOU.
No sacrifice, destined for hell.
Sacrifice done for you and you claim that sacrifice, no hell for you.
The Payment.
The buying back from a bad merchant.
Tough to explain in a short time.
Don't forget the resurection--He lives now. He is not dead now. Only a God could do this.
John 10:17 "For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.
John 10:18 "No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."

You miss the point of Christ's death, that is why. We believe and love Him so much because He died in OUR place. We were the ones who have sinned against Him, and we are the ones who should of suffered on that cross. But He took our place, and that is LOVE! God planned it this way, there was no other way. And that is why we who believe want to live for Him, and love Him so much....We want to glorify Him and tell others about His great love and sacrifice, so they too can be set free from hell and sin.
"Faith comes from hearing and hearing the word of God" Romans 10:17--one must hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in order to receive faith in Him. He says to those who believe in Him:
1 Thessalonians 5:9
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
-The meaning of life is IN Jesus Christ! It is in His written word, the Holy Bible! We who believe should take NO glory in this, all the glory belongs to God! He is the one who deserves all PRAISE and HONOR! Because we are but dust~ Yet He loved us that much--and out of His grace He chose to do this- Ephesians 2:8. What an awesome God we have!

When Jesus died for us and our sins he did it b/c he loved us, that's why we think it's so amazing, someone loved us so much that he gave his life for us and he did it knowing that even though so many would reject him, that a few would believe so he went through the beating and ridcule all b/c of his deep love for us. Not only did Christ suffer but so did God who allowed his only son to die.

It's not the god's death that is important, it is his rebirth, or in the case of Jesus, his Resurrection.
Of course, how this age old tradition plays out is confusing, because Jesus was considered God's ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Yet a sacrifice that comes back to life is hardly a sacrifice. It would have been much better if He had stayed dead. That would have been a sacrifice.
Jesus dying for you and then immediately coming back to life, isn't much more significant than Jesus taking a nap for you.

I am proud because it shows true love. He was willing to give up everything for humanity, while other followers in different beliefs have given up their lives for one who has given them only guidance. My God died in human form, taking on my punishment for my sins. Its like having your perfect sibling take the blame and punishment when actually you killed the cat. But my God didn't just die, he rose again. Wana prove me wrong? Go right on ahead. But, before you do, check out Simon Greenleaf on Google. Thanks for the question!
