For me, I was very afraid mostly of Wicca...but, I have since learned, that they are a gentle religion...and people need to learn more,..by reading and asking...not by assuming...because they assume wrong......I am still learning..but, I consider myself to be, "Multi-Spiritual" for now....but, I think that Wicca and Paganism, is pretty low key..The Pagans/ and or Wiccans do not worship the Devil...in any way what-so-ever..I can deal with that religion...too.(I also believe in God).

ECKANKAR. Maybe afraid is a strong word, but ECKANKAR is the path that I resisted, not wanting to know anything about it until some friends gave me some books about it. My life has changed for the better since then. I am so happy I got to know about the wonderful path in this lifetime.

Actually, that's true of most people with most religions. If more people would take the time to learn about things they didn't understand (or even feared), we'd live in a much more peaceful world.

Many times when people tell me something is wrong or bad and I ask "why?", they don't have an answer. Just that they heard it, or "because it is". It's really sad. Good for you for opening your mind - and thus, your heart.

I was scared of Islam because of what people said about it. Not scared as in "let's get rid of all those scary Muslims", scared like, "What if what they say is true?"
Then I had a Muslim physical therapist, just a wonderful lady and we talked about our respective religions while we worked on my back and I'm not afraid of Islam anymore. I know there are crazy Muslims just like there are crazy Christians and crazy Pagans but as with every group there's good people, indifferent people and bad people.I don't want to convert or anything, but I'm not scared either.

I used to think that Satanists worshipped the Devil and sacrificed babies. I learned that the Satanic Panic was all a pack of lies and that Modern Leveyan Satanists (The largest Satanic Movement) are actually Atheists with a flair for drama. More power to em.
