I'm very young i'm 12 i want to be come a seargant major in the Army i want to know howlong it would take me to become a seargant major. please tell me. i already know the rank table on go army.coom so dont copy and past it here please.

Like the others have said about twenty years plus to make Sergeant Major....but it also depends on the job you have, such as Infantry, Field Artillery, Medical Corps etc....how many others are in competition for the same rank, how fast you get promoted up the ranks, E1-E4 is usually automatic as long as you don't get into trouble and can pass your physical fitness.
E5-E6 depends on the points you earn in a promotion board and promotions are based upon these points and how many openings are available.
E7 and above are also through a board process but I don't know the specifics as I am only an E6.
Other factors to consider are Active duty promotions are slightly different than National Guard and Reserves.
You can email me and I might be able to forward your info to a couple Sergeant Majors and they can give you their own experiences.

At least 16 years. And if you do really well, you can make CSMA. Command Sgt. Major of the Army. You will need to be 4.0 all the way. Good Luck. You won't regret it!

Not sure you have Sargent spelled correctly, but it is a great job but you must pay your dues. I would say 20 years as it is the highest rank for enlisted men except for warrant officers

Maybe never. There are relatively few six stripes with a star. Its like making the major leagues in baseball.
