The rash is only on his cheeks and isn't anywhere else on his body, it has lasted for 2 days, I have not introduced him to any new foods? The only thing I can think of is milk, he hasn't drank any milk for almost a week. But before the week he drank it all the time and never got a rash is this possible? any info would help thanks. So far no known allergies to anything.

it is common for very light skinned babies to get rosy, chapped cheeks. it could be the cold weather, but it can happen any time. its not an allergy. its more sensitive skin. baby oil, Vaseline or baby lotion will help. he should grow out of this. not to worry.

Well, mine gets a red rash on her cheeks that comes and goes all the time it started well before a year though so I do not know if it is the same thing as your son's. The doc. said it was just her skin getting chapped ( only on cheeks) and just put lotion an it.

If you have ruled out windburn, it may be Fifth Disease. It is a very contagious but not dangerous childhood disease. It has been called the "slapped cheek" disease because of the rosy red appearance on the cheeks. Eventually, the rash extends down the arms and legs with a lacy appearance.
I would take the child to the doctor to verify. Once the rash appears, it is no longer contagious. It is of concern to pregnant women as they should not be exposed to those who have Fifth DIsease.

Winter weather, gotta love it!! Just put vaseline on your sons cheeks before bed, that way it doesnt irritate him and his hands dont get sticky for playing with it.

It could be eczema. Many doctors don't tell you this, but drinking milk can trigger it.
Also, it could be skin lice.
Maybe dry skin.
