I had a toothache 2 weekends ago and it was 3 days before I could see a dentist. I took Excedrin every 6 hours and rubbed Anbesol Maximum Strength on it to numb the pain. It worked well, but I had an abscessed tooth and now require a root canal, so it's good you're having it checked out.

Hello, (ANS) Sadly, there are only a few things you can do under these circumstances. You have my sincere sympathy I had bad toothache recently x3 weeks ago and ended up phoning up for an emergency out of hours dental help line they were 100% useless. What you can do:- a) Keep taking paracetamol tablets to reduce the worst of the pain. Paracetamol was recommended over the phone for dental pain. b) Swill the mouth with cold water or cold salty water this will definitely help reduce the pain. c) Bongella ( oral solution from a chemist or pharmacy) this contains a mild anesthetic drug which will help reduce the pain in the short term. Until you can get to the dentist for treatment. Hope that's useful? **Toothache is dreadful get treatment ASAP!! Kind Regards Ivan

Orajel. When you have a toothache you aren't suppose to eat anything sweet or cold it can't irritate it because of the nerve.

Get an oral anasthetic, like Oragel, and apply it whenever you have pain. It feels weird, like a numbness. Don't overuse it, or you will start drooling. Also, any kind of pain reliever can help in general.

swish warm water mixed with peroxide around in your mouth, then spit it out. This helps to clear out any pus or anything building up in or around the tooth and will help it feel a little better.do it once or twice an hour, several times a day.

Oragel or "swish" with some brandy or whiskey to numb the pain (in the evening). My mom recommended that to me and it did the trick until I made it to the dentist office.

Good. Your seeing the dentist.
