I have had a sleeping disorder since I was 12, but depending on what has been going on does it get worse or better. This is normal for me, but lately its gone from annoying to bad to worse. I have a set bedtime at 12 to 1am (because its impossible to sleep any earlier) and I wake at 7:15 or 8:15 depending on my classes that day. I dont want to take any sort of drug for it if I can help it. I've tried listening to calming music, not eating anything with caffine after 10, meditation, and going to bed early. None of it helped, and I tried it for at least a few weeks before giving up. Does anyone have some advise or a natural remedy I could try?

I would start out cutting the caffeine entirely, or at least much earlier in the day, more like 2 p.m. People who have insomnia should avoid stimulants generally.

Read the book No More Sleepless Nights which is available on Amazon. The doctor who wrote it is an expert in the field and it really helped me. Some people swear by melatonin, but it didn't work for me.

You're getting 7-8 hours of sleep- what's the problem?

Try muscle relaxation, deep breathing, sleep restriction, sleep hygiene or see a therapist.
