But what about those of us who do know? Why lie and act dumb just to save someone's feelings?

Praise be to Allah.
I agree, for the second time with you but at 95%. Because (I DON'T KNOW) helps the one to find what he knows nothing about and improve his knowledge concerning these things.
Albert Einstein says:
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
But at the end I disagree with small details in your question, because I know there's God (Allah)& I know my religion is true. this is based on strong evidences and not emotionally or spritually based as other religions.

"Knowing" is not the same as "Believing."
I believe the bus will arrive in five minutes, for example. But you do not know it will arrive.
Religion is often more a question of Belief. That is why the Creed is a declaration of what we believe (not what we know).
The Christian believes in God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God I(as contained in the Bible) and much more. But these are the four basics.
Many Christians have doubts. That is human. It is all part of our individual journeys.
We ALL are human, and we ALL make mistakes. Only Jesus is perfect.
It is good to question ... continue doing so
May God bless and guide you as you do so

If you can’t get along with people who think differently than you do, I suppose that would be one solution.
I DO know what I have experienced and am very clear about that. That doesn’t mean I’m going to try to make anybody else think like me or that I can’t be friends with those who think differently. I’m married to an atheist! But if I said I don’t know, I would be lying.

I don't know how anyone can say that they know anything for certain when it comes to spirituality. I think if people just kept an open mind about different beliefs, the world would be a much better place.

It would seem that way, but if we really do know something, should we say we don't know? I think that to do that would be worse even than not having peace, or not getting along, much as I value getting along with people.

It is much better and much more honest to admit you don't know than to make something up just to sound like you know what you're talking about.

You would be one of the few Chrisitians to admit it. Now if I asked you to research other religions you'd probably tell me no because you don't think they are true.

Playing dumb, you mean?!? I don't go for it. I know and I must tell. I think open minded will get us together not being dumb. Just adapt that we are folks with different strokes.
