I did Atkins and lost about 5 pounds per week, but I felt absolutely crappy. Now I am doing a low carb, low fat diet. Its higher carbs than Atkins, but much lower in fat. Now I don't feel run down, cranky, and tired. I am currently losing 4 pounds a week and since then end of January, I have lost about 12 pounds. Keep your carb count to about 50-65 carbs per day, eat lots of protein, drink lots of water, and you should be good. Also, eat six small meals a day, three consisting of nothing but protein (i.e. a glass of fat free milk, or cheese, or tuna, etc) and then the other three can be protein with a peice of fruit, some veggies and salad. Make sure to watch the fat and carb count tho, and count the carbs, because they do add up if you arent careful.

I did the atkins, was losing 7 lbs or more in a week, and just the thought of the atkins diet makes me want to be sick, sure i lost alot of weight, but all i lived on was sausages and a bit of cheese. i ate that every day for a few months, and i was a veggie, i was wanting to lose weight so much, i turned back to eating meat.

I lost 12 pounds in 7 weeks. I felt great because I made sure to balance my diet. I ate enough protein, enough healthy carbs, enough fat and drank a lot of water, I didn't eat any white flours or sugar. I did 30 minutes of exercise a few times a week.
I think it was easier for me because I had a healthy diet to begin with, so all I had to do was to cut out white bread, rice and after dinner sweets. We never eat bad foods or anything like frozen dinners, so Atkins was an easy plan. If you're used to eating a lot of junk or a lot of packaged foods, or have been filing up on sugary things, you'll probably be detoxing for the first 2 weeks. But if you generally eat salads, meat, vegetables, and homemade foods, you'll do very well.
I think people who eat processed foods probably like something like Nutrisystem because they're so used to chemicals, corn syrup and additives, and Nutrisystem is the same kind of junk.

Carbhydrate is the only only thing that turns to fat in the human body so when half the prodcuts say low in fat they are usually high in carbs, unfortunately commercial companys seem to the words low fat on alot of there products, I wonder why lol. For example sugar and flour are both 100% Carbs. You can loose around a stone in weight over a month and so on, but mix it up with alot of fruit and veg its healthier. You will find you have more energy too.

7lbs a week. But then I put 9lbs a week back on from the second I came off the Atkins. Only use it as a quick fix, not as a permanent solution x

I lost about 4-5 lbs a week. I found that for me, the more water I drank, the better the results. (I wasn't drinking enough water in the beginning).
I didn't exercise when I was doing Adkins, as I was working and going to college. My daughter did exercise and lost, on the average 4-7 lbs a week.
I can say, I never felt as good, and as energized, as when I was on the Adkins Diet.
Good luck to you.
