In the short term no, you have the expense of the kegerator, CO2, keg deposit, hoses, etc.
The cost of keg beer compared to cans/bottles is roughly the same per ounce.
If you homebrew, the cost is substantially less, but if you are purchasing, you save a little in the long run, but there are fees for refilling CO2 canisters, purchasing more beer, etc.

No, I've never seen a keg last longer than 24 hours, and if you are buying an entire keg for mainly yourself you've got problems and need to vary the brand you drink a little more often.

Only in the short term. The extraneous expense of having kegs on tap at home do mount up ;)
