Apart from my home town of Canterbury in Kent I would say the loveliest place in the world is Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt.

I love it so much that I have actually bought myself a holiday apartment down there. I have spent the past two weeks down there and even though it is the middle of winter in Egypt the temperature was still 28 degrees centigrade and not a cloud in the sky.

I also love scuba diving in the Red Sea. The coral reefs are absolutely out of this world and there are dolphins to be seen everywhere.

Paradise on earth!!

Well i haven't traveled the whole world far from it but the nicest places i have been to in Europe are Bohinj in Slovenia. We stayed in the hills in a traditional house with a lovely lady who gave us homemade vodka which was lethal. You see all the people out on the fields and women of 70 + working out there and it just hit home how different that is to the UK where healthy young men will sit on their asses all day, You really got the feeling of a close family and community, we escaped to a less touristy area and we were so accepted. My parents went the next year and were invited to someone's nephews birthday the kindness of the people there was outstanding. And it was beautiful and green quiet lovely deep lake with pure water. I will never forget that place.

As a Seaman whose work has taken me to just about every part of the world at some time or other, I would say the two most beautifully located cities in the world are Capetown in South Africa and Vancouver in Canada.

Both have awesome scenic sea views backed by spectacular mountains. Of the two Capetown has the best climate of almost anywhere in the world, Vancouver can be a bit cold and unsettled, Capetown is spoiled only by its high crime rate.

Rio de Janeiro.

Either marvelling at the views from the Christ the Redeemer statue and being able to see all of Rio, Niteroi, Rocinha etc or chilling at the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain where nothing disturbs you, watching the planes take off and land at the domestic airport, looking back at the Corcovado and the city life carrying on below.

I am so jealous of people from this beautiful city having all this fun on their own doorstep. I wish I was back there now....

Well it all depends on what you like. But personally I think Hawaii. Hawaii has the most breath taking scenery of any place I have ever been. The Crystal clear water, the volcanoes, the waterfalls Hawaii has a little of everything.

in Europe, I guess I'd go for the Rhine Valley from Cologne or Koblenz down to Mainz or perhaps Cinque Terre in Italy

In the Balkans, definitely Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia

Further afield, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Yunnan Province, SW China, or perhaps Guilin & Yangshuo, SW China...

so difficult to honestly choose just one place!

It's a little place in the bottom left-hand corner of the UK. I can't have everyone going there, so it's a secret!
