If God exists I figure he can't be as stupid and pathetic as that guy in the bible - I think the only possible reason to create anything is to keep entertained. What if when you die you find out the only thing god's been interested in is how many meatballs you ate during your life - and the best places in heaven go to the people who've eaten the most and the golden number (of meatballs) is the only factor your judged on?
Any thoughts?
*theists - its no more sillier than what you believe*

Yeah I'd do bad with meatballs too, I guess I'd plead and ask them to consider all the hamburgers I'd eaten.

Caramel's just sore because god doesnt care how much chocolate she eats.
Why can't I make fun of religion? It's so stupid.

Caramel - when you proof zeus, the golden calf and marduk arent the true god i'll prove your one doesnt exist either. When there are so many contradictory fairytales does it really take a genius to see that they all have the same claim to truth?

What I find pathetic is anybody who accepts or rejects any theory without first researching alternate theories.
Personally, I didn't accept atheism until I had done much research and I'm always open to an alternate theory.
So far the only God I reject outright is the God of the Jews, Christians and Muslims and those of ancient greek and roman mythology. Other god concepts I'm more willing to accept as valid concepts.

Seems we agree on a lot of things. I ask this same question about the meaning of life once in a meditation. The answer came clear as a bell.
It said I have placed you here to learn the true meaning of Love. What ever it was that was answering then told me something that really set me back. It said that I felt the way I did about certain people because I did not understand the true meaning of love. I protested and said that I did my best to love all of the people who were deserving of love.
It replied "yes that is your misunderstanding. You see love as something that you dole out in tiny little portions here and there to people who you have judged to be worthy of it. This is not love at all, it is only judgment". This stopped me dead in my tracks. I suddenly realized that what it was saying to me was true. This realization brought me to tears. It went
on and told me, "You treat love as though there is some shortage of it. It is not something that you can run out of. The more love that you give, the more love that there is in the world. Its that simple. The only way that there can be a shortage of it is if you hoard it and keep it to yourself."
It went on to explain, that "this is what Jesus was trying to tell you when he asked you to turn the other cheek, to judge not and to love your neighbor. He made no exceptions in these things that he requested of you. Why are you making exceptions, and judging some as worthy of love and others as not? Jesus fully intended for you to apply this love that you are to all, in a universal manner without any judgment of any sort". By this time the tears Were flowing freely. I was crying because for the first time in my life I Understood what the message Jesus left for us in the bible actually meant.
This has become my truth. I can't say what yours is for sure, but I have a feeling that it is probably similar.
Love and blessings

There are "two" true Gods in the Christian bible.
The first God is in the Old Testament: This guy was more of rogue. He chatted with people, made examples out of people who didnt believe, inarguably allowed people's faith, health, and lives to be toyed with, reproved wrongdoers, showed favorites among races (the jews were his faves) participated in human battles, etc.
He was much more humanistic in the Old Testament.
In the New Testament, God is far less humanistic. He is not directly involved in human interaction, he does not show anger or preference, he does not communicate with people or toy with their lives directly...
I think you are on the right track with your line of thought, but the title of your question should be "Who is God?"
Keep thinking!! :)

The true meaning of life is to choose where you will spend your eternity. God created a perfect heaven and none of this was supposed to happen. But then Lucifer, the devil (and a formal Angel of God) rebelled against God because he wanted his power. Well, it is impossible to have God's power unless it is the exact oposite so that is why God is good and the devil is evil. This created two powerful forces. When the devil tempted Adam and Eve they were the first to sin in a place that was to have no sin. So God created the Earth, and if we bellieve in him we go to Heaven, but if we don't we go with the other guy.

To live and be happy....
Who said "GOD" is what all the religions say "HE" is....
Maybe God is the force of life itself and by all means in which it survives.... sorta like creation.
Perhaps Jesus isn't stupid & pathetic but more like misunderstood.... like the exceptance of the unexplainable.
Creation has many more reasons than simply entertainment... there is survival, knowledge, helping, growth, and improvement.
The True meaning of Life has got to be TRUTH itself...
As for death... Your time on Earth is up.
As for Heaven... What dream do you have in your Heart?
We are simply a reflection of our Creator....
God, the positive force of Life is our Creator...
All God wants for Us is to live & be happy....
Religion kills, steals, & didvides us all....
Humans.... Not God.
The Bible only says because A MAN wrote....
Live, Love, Laugh.... AND BE HAPPY!

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.
I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.
You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.
The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -

The TRUE meaning of life is happiness. I think if you find true happiness, something that can't fade, then you're on a pretty good path.
