Because how can you put up with those things? I mean think how fair it is, you don't ask to exist but you're given a tiny short life and if you mess up with rules you can't actually know you burn in hell FOREVER. Who can really worship such a vile judgemental ogre?

If God created me, what part of my DNA is his contribution?

If God has no psychological flaws why did he feel a need to create anything, let alone doing so with such horrific and barbaric threats of punishment.

Its like someone buying a kitten and then cutting its toes off when it didnt go in the yard.

Why would anyone worship something so disgusting? I guess I'm just asking because if God existed - he wouldnt deserve worship. If he exists the first thing I do when I die is spit in his face.

I can't say I know all the whys... but I do know God is just and he doesn't go back on the promises he makes...

There are consequences to our actions and that's good. There are some folks that practice some hurtful hateful things...

It's a reverent love I have for Him because He loved me before I ever loved Him...

16 "For God LOVED the world so much that he GAVE his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. 18 "There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son. 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. 20 All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. 21 But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. "John 3:16-21

9 Christ died and rose again for this very purpose-- to be Lord both of the living and of the dead. 10 So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 11 For the Scriptures say, " 'As surely as I live,' says the LORD, 'every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will confess and give praise to God. ' " 12

must atheists always claim stupidity?

God didn't sit down and say to your parents "you will have sex at this time to produce this child". your body came about by natural events, but your soul and spirit were made by God.

so, you're saying existing with a free will is a bad thing? why do so many people hate life? and why wouldn't God want other beings to exist? even without psychological flaws, wanting to create isn't a bad thing...

and what threats? God didn't threaten, He stated the consequences:

He basically said "well, I don't like sin, in fact, sin and I have nothing in common. I can't even stand it in my presence! If you wanna come to my doorstep, wipe your feet first (be delivered from sin while on earth, your place). If you get lost, my Son'll get you there (Jesus is the way). He's already drawn a map (the straight and narrow). If you intend to come here with all your sin, we might as well stay separate. I don't want filth (sin) in my castle."

Hell isn't a threat, it's just the alternative to Heaven. And how can God be disgusting? if anything, He's the most loving person ever, to be able to not dispise mankind, despite all the evil they've done to eachother, and to Him.

once you reconcile your beliefs with technological awareness, are not you dropping something on one section or the different? Or do you position qualifiers on it? edit: ok, so what's a thanks to interpret the bible? What do you're taking as literal and non-literal? Edit situations 2: i did not ask if it replaced into shrouded in metaphor, nor did I ask the way you come back to study it. I requested what you carry to be literal contained in the bible and non-literal. Sorry if I sound discourteous. Edit situations 3: in case you've faith that is all literal then how are you going to reconcile the bible with itself?

He is real and there is no question about it, one day when you die you will see God and you won't spit on him, this I know. I hope that you will realize that even though you mock and ridicule him he still loves you. I worship him b/c he deserves everything, I am here b/c of him.

Very good points.

Even if I *could* believe in God, I wouldn't want to. He seems like such a tyrant, asking for us to be his "servants", and if we don't, we can burn in agonizing pain for eternity.

And I couldn't live with knowing that millions of perfectly good people would go to hell just because they didn't follow the "right" religion.
