Is this a sign of the arrogance of the human race that in some way we are superior to animals?
we are not superior to animals but merely share the same planet as them, if it is ok to kill one type of animal then by the same logic religous people do not have the right to condemn abortion we are just another animal.

bit shocked at some of the answers, for the record I don,t think killing in any way is a good thing. But I am jsu a bit tired of double standards from some people with religous beliefs that killing some sentient animals is O.k but killing unborn memebers of our own species is so wrong.

Thats quite a general statement But I agree organised religions think all types of strange things!

Of course killing animals is wrong..I agree we simply share the planet with them and have no RIGHT to kill them, just cos we're stronger..theres a difference between power and authority

The key here is whether or not we are "just another animal". If this is true, then it's just a simple matter of survival of the fittest. Just because we share the planet with animals does not make us animals. We also share the planet with rocks. What fool could make the comparison that we, too, must be rocks. Anyone who cannot make the distinction between humans and the rest of creation has a twisted view. No other creature even comes close to a distant second place when compared to us. We were given animals for food. Murdering a baby in the womb for the sake of convenience can in no way be compared to killing the Thanksgiving turkey! I doubt very much that you would hesitate to kill a cockroach or call the exterminater if your home was infested with mice. Oh, I guess it would be a violation of thier "rights". Or do you care only about the cute and fuzzy animals? What nonsense! And if you believe that killing animals is wrong, then why is it o.k. to butcher an innocent child?

You know what? You are lumping all of the worl's widely varying religions together, and saying that all agree on human superiority. They don't. The ones that differentiate between murder of humans (regardless of whether or not you include abortion here)and murder of other animals do so because in their doctrine humans are superior. Your question assumes all religions agree. If they did, it would be a much more peaceful world.

First, from a Christian view, God created all things and then placed mankind on the Earth. He said that all things were for the benefit of mankind, but to use their stewardship wisely. Under this theory or belief, animals are for the benefit of mankind and are therefore eaten as necessary; it is not murder, but taking care of your and your families wellbeing.

Second, it is your viewpoint/opinion that mankind is not superior to animals. Although I believe we share the same planet as animals, and should respect animals, we are not on the same level as animals. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that no other "animal" comes even close to humans. Animals don't use logic, which you are attempting to use here. Even Buddhist and Eastern religions recognize the hierarchy of species and eat animals for their sustenance.

Third, from an evolutionary standpoint, mankind is the supreme species and are just fulfilling maintaining their existence.

Fourth, it is not typical (although it does exist) that one species will eat it's own species or kill it for no reason. Animals are killed for food and clothing (at least that's all I think they should be killed for). Abortion would be like killing a member of your own species just because you don't want it around or you don't want to take responsibility for your actions.

I appreciate your viewpoint, but I don't find evidence to support it. From all the evidence I've seen mankind is superior to animals. However, I don't find one human being superior to another, whether they be an unborn fetus or a mother who has made a bad decision.

Just my opinion.

The regulation counts all murders as murders - so as that makes his action 2 counts of homicide. The regulation in effortless words provides female the right to abort a fetus as a lot as six months alongside and does no longer take in even if it really is a human or no longer, in effortless words that she has the criminal proper to do it. Murderers can not invoke this regulation, notwithstanding. optimistically they do no longer have the death penalty and that piece of human excrement rots in detention center bent over a bath room trash can getting his in simple terms deserts from adult men with Aids, for life.

Well, for starters we religious people, are allowed to kill and eat the flesh of animals. This is because God has given us charge of them. Also, in the Mosaic law God tells us the right kind to eat. Furthermore, he demanded sacrifice in atonement of sin. The priests were allowed to eat some of this flesh. In the new Testament Jesus aided in the catching of fish as well as one time catching and cooking some for his Disciples. Later, Peter receives a vision from God telling him to go kill unclean animals and eat them. Granted there is a deeper message, but a base level you see the permission to kill animals.

Now, I do believe we, as stewards, should take very good care of these animals and make their life as good as possible right up to the point of death.

It is ignorance to compare an animal to a child. A child is created in the image of God and not to be killed on the whim of a selfish woman.

What are you talking about? of course we are superior to animals, perhaps genocide is a moral high for you and the murder of the most innocent life on the planet gets your vote,is it any wonder that we are headed for extinction, would you stand by and watch while your little Brother or Sister is ripped from its place of safety and butchered?

why stop at abortion? why not just kill any body you want and get away with it? the only difference is between an unborn person within the mother and a person that's living independent of an host.

we kill animals for food because we eat meat, if you think it's unfair to kill animal for food, do you also think it's unfair for big fish to eat little fish and lions and tigers to eat goats and deers? it's call the food chain. if you think killing animals are brutal, don't you think eating plants and vegetables are brutal too? they are living things too, they just don't move or talk.

if you truly think everything should be equal then stop living, because even water has living organisms in them.

i am only against hunting for sport.

If you read the bible then you would know why people kill animals. We are only supposed to kill what we eat. Anything more is just murder. GOD created this world so we could live off of it. Perhaps you were never taught this. You should read the Holy Bible for yourself to get all the facts before posting goofy questions. Thank you.

if you ask me all these morons that think humans are superior to animals are just plain ignorant. Every living creature is equal. An animal doesn't think it's more superior that a human, that kind of thinking is man made. Animals are pure with no malice or negative emotions. Animals only kill out of fear or hunger. Please everyone, be nice to animals.
