I too have a little bot that is my world. Before him, I thought I realy knew what love was about. After having him, I realize that I knew very little.
I remember being terrified when I was pregant. I thought that I would not be a good mother to him. I also did not have a great legacy to share with him from my own childhood. However, I am happy to say that being a good parent just comes naturally. You just love them so much, that you naturally want the best for them. What you thought would be a sacrifice prior to having children, is really not a sacrifice at all when you love something so much.
Anyway, great question. I am right there with you!

I have a 2.5 year old boy and am currently 17 weeks along with number two. I feel ready to have this new baby, as I did with my first child.
Having children is much more difficult than you anticipate! lol
First time parents don't really know what to expect..late night feedings, diaper changes, all the fun stuff, but you just go with the flow and learn it all as you go.
For those women and men with their first child on the way: just relax and enjoy every minute. It is hard sometimes, but sooo worth it. And you'll wish you had those tender moments back when they were oh so small. I'm going to have my second child this summer, and right now we feel like two kids will be enough, so I'm planning to enjoy every single second of babyhood.
Babies mainly eat and sleep, baby times are the easiest time, even though when you are sleep deprived you might not feel that way!! So many fun stages.
Good luck and have fun!

Most women in my family have never wanted to get married and have kids...it always happened by accident. Yet, i always knew ever since i was a little girl myself, that i wanted a family. So when i was growing up, especially when i hit my teenage years i still had that focus and i wanted to learn traits that would just help me to be a better family person. I took cooking, sewing, health, and that was all i wanted to learn from other people. I just wanted to make myself a better family person. So yes, i knew when i was ready and i am even more ready now that im older.

Nope I am not ready. I don't even know if I want kids to be honest. Growing up I had to take care of my little brother and it was hard work. I am definitely not wanting that responsibility at the moment. Maybe I will change my mind in a few years.

What? That doesn't make sense. Are you talking about adoption?
