I take it that one step further. I don't care what Jesus is supposed to have said. If he said that, he wasn't the first person to realize that people need to love and be loved, and he wasn't the last person to say it. I said it this morning. Do you think I said it because of Jesus? Absolutely not. I said it because I figured out a few things.
The answer to suffering is love. God cannot provide love. A dog can provide it. Any human being can provide that. If you're marooned on a deserted island, you might think that a volleyball can provide it. It can't, but you'll imagine it does.
As long as people are not receiving the love, acceptance, and protection they need, they will cry out in their pain and fear to this entity who, if it existed, would be nothing more than an unloving parent with a demented son and a bunch of evil minions. What is really heartbreaking is that it doesn't exist. It is impossible to be loved by it, not even after you die.

Real christians look at the new testament and try to follow the teachings of their christ. The fundies totally ignore those lessons and just use the old testament as an excuse for their own hatred and bigotry.

Hi. From my experience with Christians is that they 'claim' to love all equally but if it came down to an act of love between one of their own immediate family and a random person they have never met then the family member would come first. That's all I have to say.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion that is not true. We do "give a crap" about what the Bible says.
We are supposed to love everyone. I try my very best to love everyone--even homosexuals, Atheists, muslims, etc.
God says homosexuality is a sin. But he does say to love everyone. So we should love homosexuals--just not become one.

thats an angry statement....I love all people, even homosexuals I just don't agree with their choosen lifestyle. I hate no one...and I leave the judging for God to do since that is his commandment that we judge not lest we be judged! so I love everyone...Same concept as the drug addict...I love the person not the disease....not saying that homosexuality is a disease its that I love them too!

Babies have their Blankees, Christians have their Bible. Babies grow out of their Blankees. Christians find ways to excoriate others via manipulations of their Bibles.

Read up on Sodom and Gommorra.
also:
"...Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
Homosexuality does not refer to what you are but what you do.
God hates sin and homosexuality is a sin.
However there is hope for homosexuals. They too can be forgiven for their sins if they repent and turn to christ as their personal saviour.

The conservative Christians like to listen to the old testament. They ignored the new one.
