I know all the usual stuff like junk, chocolate, candy, pop, and T.V., but I want to give up something unique. That not many people a giving up please help me. Thanks

Are you cynical?
Are you sarcastic?
Do you gossip?
Find the one bad habit that hurts your relationship with God the most.
Work on that bad habit during Lent and then when Lent is over keep working on it.

Might I give you some ideas?
1. Give up TV
2. Don't eat opossum
3. Don,'t give the international bird sign
4. Don't covet someones boyfriend
5. Don't watch too much porn

Lent is not about giving anything up, its about recognizeing the sacrifice that was made for you....people sometimes do this by sacrificing something....God would rather you pray for an enemy than go 40 days without soda....

Here are a couple:
Give up religion
Give up going to church
Those would be very unique, in addition it takes care of next year and the rest of the time. It actually increases the amount of time that you have in your life. Do not give up TV, because the ratings for the shows would decline and then get canceled and put people out of work. That is not nice to do.

i cant believe some of the answers on here, religion, god, baby, how horrible. i am trying to decide something too, thought about giving up meat for not just ash wed, and fridays, but the whole thing. or what one of my friends does, is instead of giving up something, she does something good, like volunteering at a shelter to help out. cause everyone always gives up something that we shouldnt have anyway and ends up cheating too, this way you dont have to feel guilty, you can feel good.

Why do you want to give up anything.
Your giving up anything doesn't impress the Lord a bit.
I suggest that you go out to eat more often. Give thanks to God for providing the money to so, and enjoy.
Try a white Zinfandel with the meal.
The 99 is a good restaurant.
The chicken with herbs is outstanding.

give up something that you dont want to give up--thats the whole point of it.
Jesus didnt want to go to the cross, but He did it anyways for the best interests of others.
for me, one year i did internet, another year i did tv, and this year i think i'll do tv again because i watch too much tv. the whole point is, you use that time with whatever you're giving up to read the Bible/spend more time with God to remember how Christ died for you on the Cross and His great sacrifice.
and never listen to those people that tell you to give up religion.

Whatever you give, I am sure God will appreciate it. You do not have to ask the Church if it is alright; that is between you and God. Also, the USA laws will protect your civil liberties.

Giving up giving up stuff. Instead focus on living the Christian life. Read your Bible more. Do things that make a difference in the lives of others
